Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music”

Music Theater Ensemble will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music” on Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 7 at 3 p.m. in the Alan Jackson Theatre at LCHS. The Tween Scene: STEAM will investigate a pop-up MakerSpace for ages 9-15 with the theme tie-dye and ice cream party at Louisa County Library at 4 p.m. The library is located at 881 Davis Highway, Mineral.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) will meet at Louisa County Library, 881 Davis Highway, Mineral, at 5 p.m. for teens who want to help plan programs and activities. Snacks and drinks will be provided and participants will receive volunteer hours for participation. For grades 6 through 12. Registration requested.

B.Y.O.C. – Bring Your Own Craft. Do you knit, bead, make rugs, hand stitch or do any kind of handcraft? Come to share ideas, show off your work and get another crafter’s eye and perception. Louisa Chapter of AARP

The Louisa Chapter of AARP meets the second Wednesday of the month in the second floor conference room of the Louisa County Office Building. All residents age 50 and older are welcome. Regular meetings, September through May, start at 2 p.m., followed by refreshments served by member volunteers. AARP meetings and trips are a great way for seniors to meet and socialize with others.

Quit Smoking classes

Thomas Jefferson Health District will offer Quit Smoking classes on Wednesdays from 5 until t p.m. through May 24 at Bybee’s Road Baptist Church, 4989 Bybees Church Road, Troy. For more information, contact Kathryn at (434) 972-6244.

Preschool Read & Rhyme Time is a fun program highlighting early literacy skills. Enjoy short books, rhymes, finger plays, a flannel story, and songs using shakers and rhythm instruments each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Designed for ages 2 through 5 with an accompanying adult or caregiver.
