Family and Friends Day
May 1 @ 11:00 am

Eagle Baptist Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Day with worship services at 11 a.m., followed by a church cook-out. The church is located at 4682 Mt. Airy Road, Louisa.

Renaissance music concert
May 1 @ 3:00 pm

A Renaissance music concert will be held at 3 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 102 Ellisville Drive, Louisa. Music of the 1200s through 1700s from Spain, France and the British Isles, on voice, lute, Renaissance guitar, recorders, viola da gamba and Baroque viola will be featured. Following the concert, attendees may ask musicians about the instruments and enjoy cookies and lemonade in the parish hall. The performance is intended to raise awareness of this beautiful music form and to support “Stop Hunger Now.”

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
May 2 @ 4:00 pm

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) will meet at Louisa County Library, 881 Davis Highway, Mineral, at 4 p.m. for teens who want to help plan programs and activities. Snacks and drinks will be provided and participants will receive volunteer hours for participation. For grades 6 through 12. Registration requested.

Business Bursts

Louisa County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Central Virginia SBDC will hold its monthly Business Bursts on Employees – Hiring, Training, Developing and even Terminating at the Louisa Arts Center at 6 p.m. Register at the Small Business Development Center under “workshops.”

Louisa County Chamber of Commerce will hold its Business Breakfast featuring the topic “Communication with the Region” at the Louisa Arts Center, 212 Fredericksburg Avenue, Louisa at 7:45 a.m.

Commission on Aging meeting
May 4 @ 10:00 am

The Commission on Aging will hold its regular monthly meeting at 10 a.m. in the Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center conference room. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Bring Your Own Craft

B.Y.O.C. – Bring Your Own Craft. Do you knit, bead, make rugs, hand stitch or do any kind of handcraft? Come to share ideas, show off your work and get another crafter’s eye and perception. Bring any project you’re working on, or come just to be inspired. All ages and levels of experience welcome. Preschool Storytime

Preschool Read & Rhyme Time

Preschool Read & Rhyme Time is a fun program highlighting early literacy skills. Enjoy short books, rhymes, finger plays, a flannel story, and song and movement, using shakers, scarves, and rhythm instruments each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Designed for ages 2 through 5 with an accompanying adult or caregiver. National Day of Prayer Community Prayer Service
May 5 @ 12:00 pm

The 65th annual National Day of Prayer Community Prayer Service will be held at 12 p.m. on the Louisa courthouse lawn, led by community leaders, pastors and local citizens. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at Louisa United Methodist Church.
