Preschool Read & Rhyme Time is a fun program highlighting early literacy skills. Enjoy short books, rhymes, finger plays, a flannel story, and songs using shakers and rhythm instruments each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Designed for ages 2 through 5 with an accompanying adult or caregiver. Murray Lodge No. 175 A.F. and A.M. will hold its barbecue fundraiser featuring pork barbecue, baked  beans, cole slaw, desserts and a beverage, dine in or take out. Tickets are $10 per person. Pick up is 4 until 6 p.m. The lodge is located at 4709 Fredericks Hall Road, Mineral.

The Louisa County Library, 881 Davis Highway, Mineral, will hold a silent dinner starting at 5 p.m. There will be no talking at this dinner, which will provide an environment to practice signing skills and learn more about deaf culture. All ages and families welcome. Please consider bringing a side dish to share.
