Preschool Read & Rhyme Time

Preschool Read & Rhyme Time is a fun program highlighting early literacy skills. Enjoy short books, rhymes, finger plays, a flannel story, and song and movement, using shakers, scarves, and rhythm instruments each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Designed for ages 2 through 5 with an accompanying adult or caregiver. Serenity Seekers Al-Anon meetings

Golden Age Club

The Golden Age Club will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. at Smokin’ Eddie’s BBQ Restaurant, 213 W. Main Street, Louisa. Anyone attending lunch should call the Parks, Recreation and Tourism office at (540) 967-4420 before 10 a.m. on the day of the event to reserve a seat.

Purcell Gallery at Louisa Arts Center

Golf outing

Louisa County Volunteer Rescue Squad will sponsor its sixth annual golf outing at Tanyard Golf Club. Registration begins at 8 a.m., tee time is 9 a.m. Get your four-man team together, $260, or register as a single and be placed on a team, $65. Lunch is included, sponsorships are available. Yard sale and other activities

Louisa Baptist Church, 305 East Main Street, Louisa, will host a yard sale beginning at 8 a.m. Other activities (10 a.m. until 3 p.m.) include a raffle, silent auction, music, food and fun. Items being donated for the yard sale can be brought to the church Thursday, Sept. 22 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Journey Home. When Marta starts having visions that make her question everything she knows about being a good wife, as advised by a manual given to her by her mother-in-law on her wedding day, whe must confront her past to regain her sanity.
