Fall bake sale

The women of Louisa United Methodist Church will hold their annual fall bake sale from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. featuring homemade bread, cookies, cakes and pies. Chicken salad and vegetable soup will also be available for sale. The church is located at 101 East Main, Louisa. For more information, call (540) 967-2657.

Salt herring breakfast

Lake Anna Rescue, Inc., 300 Bumpass Rd., Bumpass, will hold its salt herring breakfast from 7 until 10 a.m.  Menu consists of choice of salt herring, sausage or bacon, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, or potatoes and eggs cooked to order for $8 per plate.

Fall festival

St. James Episcopal Church will hold its annual fall festival from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. with crafters, baked goods, used cookbooks, jewelry and a yard sale. Breakfast and lunch items will be available. The church is located at 102 Ellisville Dr., Louisa.  For more information, call (540) 967-1665.

Yard sale

A yard sale to benefit The Journey Home, a transitional home to be built for those in need in Louisa County, will be held at Louisa Baptist Church, 305 E. Main St., Louisa from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Donated items will be accepted Thursday, Oct. 5 and Friday, Oct. 6 from 6 until 8 p.m.

Gordonsville Vol. Fire Company fall festival

The Gordonsville Vol. Fire Company Auxiliary will sponsor its annual fall festival from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. between King and Baker streets, rain or shine. Vendor spaces. 20ft x 10ft are available at $60 each. Entertainment is scheduled all day and parking is available at the fire house. For more information, contact Debbie Hoffman at (540) 832-3297. Que and Cruz

Small Country Campground will host its annual Que and Cruz fall festival from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. including the Virginia State Championship BBQ Contest, car show, live music,vendors, crafts and lots of family fun. Cone with a Cop

Visit Frosties Rail Stop from 5 until 7 p.m. and have an ice cream Cone with a Cop. Representatives from the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office K9 and motor units, Virginia State Police and Town of Louisa Police Department will be there displaying their vehicles and equipment. Proceeds will benefit the K9 unit.

Louisa County Library will present Books on Wheels from 3 until 5 p.m. at the library, 881 Davis Hwy.,Mineral. Take a peek inside JMRL’s Bookmobile and learn more about this amazing service. All ages welcomed.

Tween Scene: STEAM

The Tween Scene: STEAM will investigate a pop-up MakerSpace for ages 9-15 with the theme “Little Bits Electronic Kits” at Louisa County Library at 4 p.m. The library is located at 881 Davis Hwy., Mineral.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) will meet at Louisa County Library, 881 Davis Hwy. Mineral, at 5 p.m. for teens who want to help plan programs and activities. Snacks and drinks will be provided and participants will receive volunteer hours for participation. For grades 6 through 12. Registration requested.
