Frugal Farmstead at the Heritage Farm

Experience “a day in the life” of the Frugal Farmstead at the Heritage Farm from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.  Using tips from 19th Century literature such as The Virginia Housewife, costumed interpreters engage visitors in performing daily life skills using tools and techniques of the time period. Seasonal activities may include sewing, spinning, weaving, gardening, cooking, laundry and other household chores. The Heritage Farm is located beside the Sargeant Museum at 214 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser

Louisa UMC, 101 East Main St., Louisa, will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5 until 7 p.m. The menu will consist of spaghetti, meatballs, salad, roll and dessert, eat in or carry out. Child Seat Check Station

The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, in support of National Child Passenger Safety Week and the Louisa County High School YOVASO Club’s Save Your Tailgate buckle-up campaign, will offer a free Child Seat Check Station, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., at Walmart, 164 Camp Creek Pkwy., Gordonsville.  Certified technicians will be available to provide child seat inspections and advice. Texas Hold’em poker tournament
