The Louisa Community Chorus will begin rehearsals on Monday, Sept. 9, for the 2013 concert series. The first rehearsal will start at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Louisa United Methodist Church, located in the heart of Louisa. Rehearsals will continue every Monday evening at 6:45 p.m. through Nov. 11.
Fall concerts will be held Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. at the Louisa United Methodist Church and, as always, both concerts are free, however, a love offering will be accepted.
The Louisa Community Chorus is a group of approximately 40 dedicated people who donate their time and talents to sing for the fun of singing together. The chorus is also a non-profit group which maintains an on-going scholarship fund for a LCHS graduate pursuing the arts. In addition to the scholarship, the chorus makes a donation each year to a worthy group. In past years, the group has donated to the Louisa Emergency Food Pantry, the Earthquake Relief Funds, Louisa 4-H Camp, Louisa Arts Center and others. This year, a donation is planned for the Santa Council.
Anyone who is interested in singing and is willing to donate lots of time and hard work, consider joining this amazing group. There are no tryouts. Just show up with a positive attitude and you are guaranteed a wonderful experience.
