The ninth annual Charity Chili Cook-off at Earlyhouse will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, from 12 until 5 p.m. Enthusiastic chili teams from all over Virginia and beyond have signed up to vie for the bragging rights to the best chili in Central Virginia. Great chili, great music, competition and fun is the order of the day.
Chili fans will enjoy a beautiful autumn day, delicious food, and live music on the Earlyhouse stage. The popular Cornhole Tournament will begin at 1 p.m. There will be drawings, a Wheel of Fortune, and the renowned silent auction, with something for everyone.
The Charity Chili Cook-off benefits the National Kidney Foundation and the Good Doctors’ Foundation. Representatives of Lifenet will also be present, explaining the importance of organ donation for restoring health and saving lives.
Relax and enjoy a day at Earlyhouse, located at 3998 Yanceyville Road in Louisa. Admission is $10 for adults; $5 for children ages three through 12 and includes all the chili you care to sample. Other food and beverages will also be for sale. Our official Central Virginia Charity Chili cook-off T-shirt is now available for $12 each.
Since its beginning, the Chili Cook-off has raised more than $65,000 for charity, and the goal this year is $15,000. Local businesses, as always, have been generous in their donations and support. Team spots and sponsor opportunities are still available. Anyone interested in entering can find the rules and registration at www.earlyhouse.com – the chili cook-off pages.
