Despite the feelings of Mineral residents who argued against a Family Dollar store coming to Mineral, a quick rezoning amendment by Mineral Town Council has opened the door for Family Dollar to reapply.
Since the first public hearing on June 28, residents were outraged over having the store in their backyards. Some business owners told council that the store would not only hurt their own businesses, but could possibly put them out of business.
Regardless, town council pushed to have Family Dollar build a 8,300-square-foot store on the corner of Fifth Street and Mineral Avenue.
