Fluvanna man killed in Louisa County plane crash Sunday

An experimental plane being flown by a Palmyra man on Sunday in Louisa County crashed in a clearing on Chalk Level Road.

The pilot who was killed in Sunday afternoon’s plane crash in Louisa County has been identified as Timothy M. Henson, 70, of Palmyra, Virginia.

State police said that Henson had taken off from the Louisa County Airport in his experimental plane when it crashed a short time later in a clearing in the 400 block of Chalklevel Road. He was the only passenger the plane.

The FAA and NTSB were notified and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
