The Virginia Cooperative Extension, Fluvanna Unit, will host a “Be Market Ready: Food Safety from the Fields to the Fork” at the Louisa Arts Center Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The workshop is geared toward those who participate in local farmers’ markets and will:
• Increase knowledge of the importance of practicing safe food handling.
• Enhance food safety practices at farmers markets in Central Virginia by discussing best management practices for growers and vendors of fresh produce, value added products and those preparing and serving food.
• Increase knowledge of product marketing techniques at farmers’ markets.
