Residents in Louisa County don’t have far to drive to enjoy fireworks shows this weekend. There are two opportunities to view patriotic displays on back-to-back nights.
On Friday, the Louisa Volunteer Fire Department is bringing back its longtime fireworks tradition at its annual Firemen’s Fair. The Virginia Skypainters will produce the show near the fairgrounds beginning around 9:30 p.m.
Spectators can bring towels, blankets or chairs to sit in and watch the night sky from inside the fairground or at the Louisa Little League ballfield situated between Fredericksburg and Church Avenues.
The show is taking place in conjunction with this week’s 73rd annual Louisa Firemen’s Fair that opened Wednesday night with carnival rides, games and traditional fair foods.
