A man was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday, June 25 as he walked southbound on Courthouse Road in Louisa County . The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
At approximately 9:16 a.m., Louisa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy D. Dingus responded to the hit-and-run call.
Brian Casto, 43, of Troy, told the deputy that he was walking down the road and at approximately 8 a.m., a red Chevrolet Malibu or Impala struck him from behind. It is believed that the mirror on the vehicle is what made contact with Casto, but could not be confirmed. At the time of the incident, there were no witnesses, evidence or vehicle parts.
Timothy Ward, of Louisa, found Casto lying against a building at about 9:05 a.m. and flagged down a passing motorist so rescue could be called.
