Holly Grove Ruritan Club selects Citizen of the Year

Tommy Barlow accepts the Citizen of the Year award from 2012 President Steve Montgomery.

Holly Grove Ruritan Club has selected Tommy Barlow as their 2012 Citizen of the Year. Barlow, a life-long resident of Louisa County, represents the Mountain Road district on the Louisa County Board of Supervisors. Barlow is past Chairman of the Louisa County Planning Commission and currently is the representative for Louisa County on the Thomas Jefferson Planning District. He also a board member on the Louisa County Industrial Development Authority. Barlow has been active in many civic organizations including the local, district and state levels of 4-H. He is a founding Board member of the Blue Ridge Team Penning Association, later running the organization and was recognized as the Sportsman of the Year as well as a High Point Rider of the Year. Barlow and his wife of almost 40 years have a daughter and live in the Holly Grove area.
