Weston Farm Winery

Weston Farm Winery in Louisa, VA

Louisa’s newest winery, Weston Farm Winery, has already earned several awards for its wines.

Named for the original farm where it’s located, Weston Farm Vineyard and Winery is Louisa County’s newest winery. And it’s a family affair.

Peggy and Bobby Martin decided to venture into the wine business after retiring from their previous jobs. In 2005, the couple jumped into the grape business by planting 4,600 vines on the property, located off Harris Creek Road, just outside of the Town of Louisa. They followed up with 550 more vines in 2006 and 800 more in 2010.

As they developed their business in a five-year span, Bobby built the tasting room, a picnic shelter and the winery building. He also completed renovations on the couple’s 218-year-old home, which is located on the same property.

The couple designed their own labels for the five varieties of wine offered at Weston Farm–chardonnay, rose, rosso, cabernet franc and norton. The labels feature drawings of the couple’s French bulldogs Charlie and Suzie.

The winery is off to a fast start, earning several awards in its first years and becoming a regular site for events, with many that benefit local charities, including  the Louisa Humane Society and St. Rocco’s Hounds.
