Just enough.  That would be the night’s mantra for Louisa’s Lady Lions as they shut-down, shut-out and pinked-out visiting Monticello High School on Thursday, April 25 by a 2-0 score.

One of Louisa High School’s special community nights, the annual “Pink Out” game saw the Lady Lions improve to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in the Jefferson District with their victory.

Tossing a gem by striking out five Monticello batters while issuing only one walk, Louisa senior Brittany Wratchford went seven stout innings limiting the Lady Mustangs to a solo hit, and a double in the sixth inning from Ginny Dansey.

“Brittany [Wratchford] did a fantastic job keeping them off balance tonight,” Louisa Head Coach Dan Barrett said.  “Using all of her pitches, making them hit ground balls so our defense could take over, Brittany is very good at that.”

From an offensive output perspective, it was fortunate that Wratchford was on her game as Louisa, although strategically placed, managed just five hits over the course of the contest

Trickling a single through the infield and into left field in the opening inning, Lindsey Talley stole second base shortly thereafter for the first of her pair of swipes on the evening.
