Tom Click hasn’t been doing business in Louisa for very long, but he is already making his mark on the community.
Helping cement that mark, Click was named the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce’s Business Person of the Year at the chamber’s annual awards dinner on March 23.
“This is an incredible honor,” he said after receiving the award. “This is an award that probably should be shared by a lot of people.”
Tom and his wife Sarah opened Patriot Aluminum Products in Charlottesville in 2010. The company manufactures aluminum electrical conduits for use in construction.
The company’s first manufacturing plant was behind the Charlottesville airport, but the Clicks found the location had limited options for growth of their company. They began looking at other sites and found space at the Ferncliff Business Park in Louisa County. They opened their headquarters there in 2014 and have been operating from within the county ever since.
“If we hadn’t had the opportunity to move to Louisa County, we wouldn’t have experienced the growth we’ve had,” he said.
