Louisa County High School Envirothon team places first

The Louisa County High School Envirothon team placed first in the second level of regional competition on April 30.

Eight teams represented various soil and water conservation districts from around the district at James Long State Park in Haymarket.

Louisa and Western Albemarle high schools represented the Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District. They worked well together as teams, answered skill test questions and made oral presentations to a panel of field experts.

Other regional soil and water conservation districts that participated in the event include Culpeper, John Marshall, Loudon, Northern Virginia, Prince William.
