Louisa County Public School administration works to keep Moss-Nuckols accredited

Posted on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 3:41 pm

Louisa County Public School administrators are in the process of implementing required improvement programs at Moss-Nuckols Elementary School, after the school received below standard mathematics scores on Standards of Learning tests.

The elementary school did not meet state requirements and is “accredited with warning.” The school also failed to meet federal guidelines and received Title 1 sanctions and is listed as a focus school, according to Dr. LuAnne Unruh, assistant superintendent for instruction.

As part of the improvement process, the division is required to enlist the aid of a consultant from the Virginia Department of Education at a price tag of $20,000 a year.
