The fair kicks off on Wednesday, July 1 with the opening of the fairgrounds and carnival rides and games, including Black Jack and Bingo. The parade steps off on Thursday, July 2, and the fireworks show will be held on Friday, July 3.
The Louisa Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) will serve up traditional carnival fare including corn dogs, cheeseburgers, hotdogs and barbecue.
Floats will start lining up for the parade on Thursday at 6 p.m. and will march down Main Street at approximately 7 p.m.
Friday’s Independence Day fireworks show is being produced by Wayt Gibbs of Virginia Skypainters. Spectators can view the show from inside the fairgrounds and the Louisa Little League ball field.
Fireworks are scheduled to start at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3. Arrive early and bring a blanket to the ball field.
Carnival tickets will be available at the fairgrounds entrance starting Wednesday, and gates will open at 6 p.m. Rides don’t start until 7 p.m. each night.
