For the second consecutive season, Louisa County High School was represented at the Virginia High School League state golf tournament which was held at the Glenrochie Golf Club in Abingdon on Oct. 10 and 11.
This season, the honor of representing the Lions fell to freshman Zane Moore, who competed individually in the two-day tournament.
On the first day, Moore shot an 83 on the par 72 course. He shot four bogeys and four double bogeys through the day.
Day two was a much better day for Moore, who carded 77 for the day. He cut his bogey and double bogey tally in half, carding only two of each.
With a total score of 160, Moore tied for 29th place with Jackson Soske of Woodgrove High School.
“Zane was extremely impressive at states, especially being a freshman and the first time ever in a tournament of that caliber,” Louisa head coach Neal Moubray said. “He really has some momentum going into the offseason and into next year.”
