To the Editor:
I am a 2001 graduate of Louisa County High School, but I am now living in Ocala, Florida.
I have suffered all my life with cerebral palsy and my condition continues to get worse. In fact, it has gotten so bad that recently I needed to get a “Rollator” just to get around. My doctor told me it was that or I’d need a wheelchair. I wanted the Rollator because it allows me to continue using my legs as long as I can and it gives me access to more places. The problem was my healthcare wouldn’t cover it.
I stay in contact with my high school nurse and told her all this. In no time, she called back and told me that the Louisa County Lions Club had a like-new Rollator and were happy to donate it to me at no charge and arranged to have it shipped to me in Florida. It is fantastic and I am able to move around so much better.
I wanted to write this letter to let the Lions Club know how happy they have made me and how very much I appreciate their kindness. They are the best!
