Emily Hall puts the ball in play during the Lions’ Region 4B tournament game against Midlothian on May 21.

Louisa’s softball team traveled to Midlothian High School to begin its post season play, taking on the Trojans in the opening round of the Virginia High School League Region 4B tournament. The Lions came up short 4-1, bringing the 2019 season to a close.

The Lions had runners in scoring position in both the second and third innings, loading the bases in the latter, but were unable to capitalize. The Trojans got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning with a pair of runs, then added two more in the fifth to take a 4-0 lead.

Louisa caught a break in the top of the seventh. Jerri Lynn Shull led off with a single.
