A Louisa man was arrested after he allegedly fired a shotgun at a passing vehicle.

Louisa County Sheriff’s Office deputies found James Corbin, 22, at a house in the 2700 block of Valentine Mill Road shortly after the Feb. 9 incident. He was charged with shooting at a car, reckless handling of a firearm and damage to property.

According to a criminal complaint filed at Louisa General District Court, the sheriff’s office received a report between 6:40 and 8 p.m. of a man walking in the road in the 3000 block of Valentine Mill Road. Moments later, the victim, a Louisa resident traveling with his mother, called to report a gunshot.

Deputies found indentations from several shotgun pellets on the back of the car on the driver’s side. The car sustained more than an estimated $2,000 in damage.
