Louisa schools are about to open for new school year

Posted on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 9:00 am

Louisa County Public Schools students will return to class on Wednesday, August 13.  Open houses, which give families a chance to connect with their child’s teachers, will be held at all schools in the days before.

On Friday, August 8, Louisa County Middle School and Louisa County High School will conduct Open House from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. On Monday, August 11, elementary schools will conduct their Open Houses in two waves, with early childhood education, pre-k, and kindergarten Open House scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Families of students in grades 1 through 5 can meet teachers between 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The LCHS Open House will give families a chance to experience an abbreviated version of their students’ scheduled academic days with 10 minutes at each class. Times for each period are included in a letter being mailed home.

To maximize the time for families and teachers to connect, schedule changes will not be made during the LCHS Open House, although they may be requested and processed later. Before the Open House, counselors will be available at LCHS to amend student schedules from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 31 and August 1, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on August 4 and August 5, and from noon to 4 p.m. on August 6 and August 7.

For more information, or to enroll your student, please contact your child’s school or the LCPS central office at (540) 894-5115.
