Louisa County High School’s swim and dive team get their season underway this week with back-to-back swim meets on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
The Lions return a number of athletes from last year’s roster, including seniors Hayden Bunting and Alexa Owen. Owen is a three-time Virginia High School League state championship qualifier, having competed for the Lions in each of the last three seasons. Coach Debra Bickley describes both as good “all-around” athletes and looks for them to make big contributions to the team this season.
The Lions also return several standout underclassmen to the roster this season. Juniors Michael Menton and Katey Parshall return to the pool for the 2018 season, as do sophomores Hailey Conner, Abigail Pierce and Josh Cutright. The Lions boast a number of new faces as well. Freshmen Alison Soriano, Kaitlyn Goldschmidt, Dyllan Hartman and Adrian Patterson are swimmers Bickley said she expects a lot from this year.
