Louisa task force arrests three on child pornography charges

kiddie porn dudesMore than 200 pieces of child pornography on three suspects’ computers were discovered by Louisa County Internet Crimes Against Children task force at the end of June.

Walter Blanco-Maldonado of Chesterfield, Adam Pruitt of Fredericksburg and Thomas Cowan of Charlottesville were arrested in the past week on charges of distribution of child pornography.

According to Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, more than 120 images of child pornography were found on Blanco-Maldanado’s computer. He was arrested June 28 on five counts of distribution of child pornography. Blanco-Maldanado is currently being held without bond at Chesterfield County Jail and is expected to be in Louisa County General District Court on August 18.

Pruitt’s home computer yielded more than 87 items relating to child pornography. He was arrested June 26 in conjunction with Stafford County Sheriff’s Office on two counts of distribution of child pornography. Pruitt is expected to be in Louisa County General District Court on July 7.

LCSO discovered 15 files relating to child pornography on Cowen’s home computer. He was arrested on June 30 on four counts of distribution of child pornography. Cowen is expected to be in Louisa County General District Court on August 18. Cowen and Pruitt are being held without bond at Central Virginia Regional Jail.

“Since its inception, our ICAC program has been successful and the department will continue to investigate and prosecute anyone who preys on our children,” LCSO Major Donnie Lowe said. “We are very proud of the detectives and other agencies that assisted us during these investigations.”
