There’s a new face on the corner of Mineral’s Town Square, a relaxed restaurant with a unique name: Joe-Joe’s Super Heroes.
And with a menu that meshes culinary classics such as Chicago-style pizza and fresh burgers with tantalizing treats like deep-fried Oreos and Twinkies, manager Joe White says the name isn’t the only thing about the eatery that is super.
“We keep it simple,” White said. “You don’t have to do anything fancy to keep customers coming back.”
Opened for business on May 5, the restaurant’s atmosphere makes you feel as if it has been open for longer. The jerseys of Louisa athletes of years past line the walls, Hershey’s ice-cream greets diners when they enter and White frequently makes trips out of the kitchen to check on customers.
“It’ s been really good [since we’ve opened],” White said. “We’ve had the same customers every day and that’s a good sign. If anything has been wrong, we’ve fixed it, no questions asked. We want to keep people happy and keep them coming back.”
Open every day at 11:30 a.m. – except for Sundays, when they open at noon – Joe-Joe’s SuperHeroes has a menu featuring lunchtime standards with added flavors and eye-catching names. The American Hero is a foot long wrap with ham, turkey, bacon and American cheese. The Courageous Chicken is a grilled chicken smothered in buffalo sauce topped with onions, peppers and various cheeses.
In total, Joe-Joe’s Super Heroes has more than 30 different meal options, most with gluten-free alternatives
