Mineral wagons stolen

Posted on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 9:32 am

Two red radio flyer wagons used by customers of the Mineral Farmers Market to transport their goods to their vehicles, have disappeared from behind the food trailer.

Becky Vigon is hoping that whoever took the wagons would quietly return them to the market area or leave them behind the Town of Mineral office.

“We would not be pressing charges,” Vigon said. “We want to keep it friendly.”

Vigon said the wagons, which were not secured, were taken in November and have a replacement cost of approximately $90 to. If the wagons are not returned , Vigon said she will solicit sponsorship from local businesses whose names would be placed on the side of the new wagons.

“It would be like a rolling billboard,” Vigon said.

Vigon said one of the red wagons had the Mineral Farmers Market website in vinyl lettering on the side so if removed, signs of the lettering would still be visible.

She said the only way to remove all signs of the lettering would be to repaint the wagon.

Vigon said in the future the wagons would be secured.

If anyone has information about the wagons or would like to sponsor a new wagon can contact Vigon at (540) 854-7626 or the Town of Mineral Office at (540) 894-5100.
