Posted on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12:00 pm

Miss Louisa is an annual tradition among local high school girls. The pageant will celebrate its 51st anniversary this year.

The winner of Miss Louisa not only represents the county at various events, but will also participate in multiple activities at the annual Dogwood Festival in Charlottesville.

Twelve contestants will compete at 6 p.m. on March 9 at Louisa County High School for the title of Miss Louisa, a $500 prize and additional scholarships that will be awarded to two participants.

The pageant is hosted by the Louisa Junior Women’s Club, a nonprofit community organization that has served Louisa since 1955, and focuses on empowering young women in the community.
