David Osmond

David Osmond, 79, of Louisa, passed away on August 10, 2012, at Hospice House in Charlottesville.

He was born to Louis and Mabel Classon Osmond in Lisbon, Illinois. As a child, he resided in Seneca, Illinois, until he was drafted into the Army in 1953.  He attended Devry Tech in Chicago, Illinois,  and worked as an electrical maintenance supervisor for Union Carbide and Celanese Americas in Ottawa, Illinois, and Klockner in Gordonsville.  David’s strength of character and sense of humor endeared him to all and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann, of 59 years; his five children, Linda Orton, Stan Osmond and his wife, Teri, Brian Osmond and his wife, Linda, Amy Southam and her husband, Joseph,  and Kimberly Hopkins and her husband, Michael; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; his seven brothers and sisters, Mervin Osmond, Ruth Bols, John Osmond, June Andreatta, JoAnne Newton, Paul Osmond and Susan Van Cleave, along with many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arnold and Merrill.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Lisbon Bethlehem Church in Lisbon, Illinois.
