Lawrence L. Harris Jr.
Lawrence Lee Harris Jr., fondly know as “Bobby,” departed this life on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.
He was born on July 24, 1943 to the late Lawrence Lee Harris Sr. and Mary Dell Harris. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Harris Sr.; his wife, Joyce Harris, his daughter, Cecilia Harris; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Thompson.
Bobby confessed life at an early age. He was a member of Byrd Grove Baptist Church and attended Fluvanna County Public Schools. He retired from Settle Tire in Charlottesville.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories one son, Garland Harris (Sabrina) of Esmont; one daughter, Cassandra Harris of Charlottesville; one brother, Henry Harris (Christine) of Bremo Bluff; three sisters, Ramona Poindexter (Mack), Marilyn Green (Larry) and Carolyn Harris, all of Louisa; one devoted sister-in-law, Irmay Harris of Goochland; one devoted aunt, Bernice Allen of Louisa; 13 grandchildren, Tamisha Harris, Jermaine Harris, Chay Harris, Chay Wilson, Prontia Harris, Shanee Creasy, Victoria Harris (devoted), Maximillion Harris, Antonio Bradshaw, Porche Washington, Kadisha Harris, Jabez Maupin; one step-granddaughter, Deja Bledsoe; eight great-grandchildren, Jamar, Elijah, NyAsia, Tajhia, Makayla, Makyia, Jaesaun and Laniyah; a devoted friend and caregiver, Virginia White of Kents Store; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6 at Sheridan Funeral Home Chapel, Kents Store.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 at Byrd Grove Baptist Church, 2963 Cedar Ln., Kents Store.

Louise F. Henshaw
Louise Foster Henshaw, 93, of Henrico County, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, Richmond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Henshaw; three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her sister and two brothers.
A graveside service was be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4 in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa.

Angela D. Holland
Angela “Angie” Denise Holland departed this life on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 3:50 p.m.
Angela was the daughter of the late Harry Russell Holland Jr. and Doris Ella Johnson. She was born April 19, 1965 in Charlottesville, the oldest of all her siblings. She was a loving person with a kind and kindred spirit who was loved by all who ever met her. She had an infectious smile and a contagious laugh that could quickly fill a room.
Angie was a very spiritual woman. She was a devoted member of Standing on the Promises of God Non-Denominational Church, under the leadership of Pastor Larry L. Holt Sr., which she joined in 1996. She attended church very frequently until her health prevented her from doing so.
Angie was just 13 years old when she left Virginia and relocated to Newark, New Jersey, where she formed life-long friendships with many people, including Christopher Allen Boston Sr., with whom she had three daughters that she loved wholeheartedly and unconditionally.
Angie was a hard-working woman who held an array of jobs to provide for her three children. She worked at Virginia Oil Company (Amoco) in Louisa as a cashier for many years until she fell ill in 2000. In October 2000, Angie was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease, a brave battle which she fought hard and ultimately lost.
Angie leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Doris Booker of Louisa; her stepfather, James Booker Jr. of Louisa; her grandmother, Christine McGhee of Louisa; 14 siblings, Lynn Parchment of Richmond, Harry Holland III (Denise) of Newark, New Jersey, Rhonda HoIland of Montclair, New Jersey, David Russell (Amy) of Henrico, Leila Tatum (Jarrod) of Atlanta, Georgia, Fred Cooper Jr. of Henrico, Tijuan Holland of Henrico, Derek Holland of New Jersey, Kenny Holland of New Jersey, Christy Holland of Louisa, Ronnie Holland of New Jersey, Aaron Holland of Henrico, James Booker III of Louisa, Cheyniqua Holland of Henrico, and Jeffrey Holland of Pennsylvania; three daughters, Monic Holland of Richmond, Brittany Holland of Henrico, and Simone Holland of Mechanicsville; one very special and devoted friend, George R. Davenport (whom she nick-named “Roscoe”) of Mechanicsville; seven grandchildren that she loved very deeply, Khya, Jer’Niya (her “Cupcake”), Seyveon, Nikayla, Akeira, Demari and Sean; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Larry L. Holt Sr., were held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 at Standing on the Promises of God Church, 1240 Waldrop Church Rd., Louisa. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Preston Powell Jr., 75, of Louisa County, died Saturday, November 24, 2012.
He is survived by his children, Preston Powell III (Marian), Debbie McKinney (Chuck), Theresa Wood (Mike), Stephanie Bartol (Mark); 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his sister, Joyce Harris; and his brothers, Wayne (Ann) and Tommy (Judy).
The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 at South Anna Baptist Church were a memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Robert W. Winston Sr.
One of Louisa County’s eldest residents, Robert W. Winston Sr., quietly departed this life on Friday, November 30, 2012 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his wife Katie Coleman Thurston Winston; his daughter, Essie Regina Pearson; his son, Baby Boy Winston; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
He is survived by three daughters, Ella Mae Strong, Emma “Jane” Hungerford and Oleathia “Lede” Bullock; one son; Robert W. Winston Jr. (Beverly); the extended Jackson family; three sisters, Geneva Hall, O’Della Lasley and Inez Thurston; five grandsons, four granddaughters, 10 great grandsons, eight great-granddaughters, one great-great-grandson, two great-great-granddaughters, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends for a Memorial Service on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel, 117 West Street, Louisa, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
