Joseph D. Hansen Jr.

Joseph Daniel Hansen Jr.,49, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at his home in Fredericks Hall.

Born on June 28, 1964, he was the son of Joseph D. Hansen Sr. of Louisa and the late Melinda Hansen.

He is survived by his father; three children, Joseph D. Hansen III and his wife, Manna, Samantha Hansen and Summer Hansen, all of Fredericks Hall; three grandchildren, Cheyenne, Savannah and Mackenzie Hansen; three siblings, Melvin Hansen and his wife, Debbie, Faye Powell and her husband, Timmy, and Thomas Hansen and his wife, Missy; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Mr. Hansen was a carpenter by trade. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by all, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Hansen was also a huge NASCAR fan.

A memorial service, conducted by Pastor Steve Huffman, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 at Emmanuel Baptist Church,12204 Cross County Rd., Mineral.

Delcie L. Hensley

Delcie Louise Hensley, 69, of Kents Store, passed away on March 5, 2014 at her residence.

Born in West Virginia to the late Douglas and Dora Vinson, she worked as a school cafeteria cook for Logan West Virginia School District. She was a member of the Louisa Hillbillies and the Shriners Patriot Club.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Frank Hensley; her brothers, Garnet, Ezra, Garland, Cecil, William, Asa and Johnny Vinson; and a sister, Rella Clark.

She leaves to cherish her memory, special friend, Bill Weisenburger of Kents Store; three sons, Franklin Hensley (Debbie) of Omar, West Virginia, Douglas Hensley (Alice) of Peach Creek, West Virginia and Daniel Hensley (Amanda) of Kenna West Virginia; a daughter, Melissa Farmer of Monaville, West Virginia; her grandchildren, Shawn, Brienna, Hailey, Becca, Jayda, Hayden, and Madison; her brothers, Estil Vinson (Delores) of Delbarton, West Virginia, Douglas Vinson (Kathryn) of Hanover West Virginia; her sisters, Mabel Camp of San Diego, California, Mary Scites of Dumfries, Aline Scites of Rineyville, Kentucky and Lydia McKenzie (Andrew) of Whitman, West Virginia.

A funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Greg Compton, was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10 at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa. Interment was in St. Jude Catholic Church Cemetery, Mineral.

Mary H. Parris

Mary Helen Parris, 73, of Louisa, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

Born in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Claude C. and Omie H. Parris; and was the widow of Charlie Clark. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, James Ozzie Parris and Burley Parris.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Luizane Eckert and her husband, Ricky, of Louisa; her grandchildren, Kimberly Eckert, Donald Birkelund and Sueanne Birkelund; her great-grandchildren, K.K. Reilly, Bridgett Reilly, Summer Reilly and Connor Birkelund; her brother, James Ervin Parris and his wife, Patricia, of Long Island, New York.

A celebration of life service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9 at Macedonia United Methodist Church.

Arrangements were made by Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa.

Willie Earl Payne

Willie Earl Payne, 67, of Locust Grove, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Payne; three step-children, Robbie, Joy and Renae; his brothers, Daniel and Ricky Payne; his sisters, Virginia Hall, Barbara Seay, Donna Williams and Tammy Seay; his best friend and nephew, Kyle Seay.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 at the Seay Family Cemetery, Mineral.

Arrangements were made by Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa.

Elton A. Rigsby

Elton Andrew “Red” Rigsby, 91, went to be with the Lord the morning of March 7, 2014.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ollie C. and Lola H. Rigsby; three brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his son, Dale Andrew Rigsby (Lisa); his daughters, Theresa Rigsby Lovett, Brenda Gale Rigsby; his devoted ex-wife and loyal friend, Hazel L. Jones; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with one on the way, and all his devoted family and friends.

Elton loved dancing, eating good food, and spending time with family and good friends. He worked for Brooks Transfer and Hemingway Transport for 37 years. He was a lifelong member of Gold Hill Lions Club, China Grove, North Carolina. He prayed daily for all of his family and friends and always wished everyone he met the best of luck in life.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11 at Bliley’s Chippenahm Chapel. Interment was at Dale Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club, 809 Enochville Ave., China Grove, NC 28023.

Elue G. Taylor Sr.

Elue Gilbert Taylor Sr. went to be with the Lord Monday, February 17, 2014 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.

He was born Nov. 18, 1942 in Buckingham County. He loved being outside in the garden planting, or in the garage fixing up something. He was our “handy man” and could fix anything.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Ann Taylor; his parents, Stafford and Agnes Taylor; his siblings, Mary Moss, Lillie Calhoun, Gracie Harris, William Taylor, Harry Taylor, Samuel Taylor, Charlie Taylor.

He is survived by his two sisters, Betty Buttner and Joyce Mile;. three sons, Joseph Wood Taylor, Robert Wayne Taylor (Crystal), Elue Gilbert Jr., all of Louisa; three granddaughters, Chrystal Lynn Taylor, Tiffany Lynn Taylor, Amber Marie Taylor, Rebecca Angela Taylor; three grandsons, Cory Wood Taylor, Justin Kyle Taylor, Chasen Levi Mills, Zachary Elue Taylor, Austin Elue Taylor; two great-granddaughters, Haizel Ann-Marie Amick, Kylie Alexis King; his great-grandsons, Trey Nathaniel Taylor, Konnor Wayne Barnette and Leland Wayne Taylor.

Funeral services will be private.

Pamela J. Vaughan

Pamela Jinnett Vaughan, 53, of Mineral, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Lexington Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Jinnett.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff D. Vaughan; her children, Angie Harris (Nathan), Jacob Vaughan and Sarah Vaughan; her mother, Betty Jinnette; her grandson, Finley Harris, her brothers, Mike, Steve (Jill) and David Jinnett; her mother-in-law, Carol Vaughan; her nieces and nephews, Cory Wright (Angie), Becky Wright, Kristi Jinnett, Jenny Jinnett, Rachel Jinnett, Chris Sheffield, Andrew Sheffield, Julie Vaughan and Traci Vaughan; and her great-nephew, Hunter Wright.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 11 at South Anna Baptist Church. Interment was in the Jinnett Family Cemetery, Mineral.
