Catherine J. Deane, 64, of Columbia, was called home on May 8, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born on June 7, 1948 to the late Melton and Louise Jackson.

Mrs. Deane was employed for over 30 years with the University of Virginia Medical Center Orthopedic Department. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert G. Deane, son, Robert G. Deane, Jr and his wife, Carolyn, grandson, Christopher G. Deane and his wife, Jessica, sister, Mary Ann Hodges and her husband, Davis, mother-in-law, Maxine Patterson, sister-in-laws, Rita Moore and Debra Hunt and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, 50 Old Columbia Rd, Columbia, VA 23038 with Rev. William Bess officiating.

Horace R. Jackson

Horace R. Jackson, 73, of Mineral, departed this life on May 11, 2013. He is survived by countless relatives and friends.  Remains rest with Owens Funeral Services, 104 Green Chimneys Court, Ashland, where a public viewing will be held from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Peggy C. Ryan

Peggy Clough Ryan, 79 of Louisa county; died December 29, 2012.She was preceded in death by her husband; H. Michael Ryan, Jr. and her parents, John Robert “Bobby”, Sr. and Joyce Nicholas Clough.She was retired from the U.S. Military, having served in the Air Force for seven years and the U.S. Army for twelve years.

She is survived by her  brothers, John Robert Clough, Jr. of Ashland, PA and Daniel Clough, her sisters; Jean C. Hollins and Merle Clough all of Apple Grove, Virginia, her step-children; Patricia Ryan Madson (Ron) of El Granada, CA, Michael Ryan, III (Lynn) of Burke, Virginia and Kathleen Ryan of Richmond, Virginia.
