Henry.JasperAn Albemarle County jury has recommended a Louisa man serve two life sentences and pay a $100,000 fine in the rape and abduction of a 23-year-old female.

The victim testified in circuit court on Wednesday, Jan. 8, that Henry Lee Jasper, 33, of Louisa, forced her by knifepoint into her home, covered her eyes and raped her on the bathroom floor on April 14, 2013.

Jasper then forced her into the shower where he used shampoo to wash both of them, she said, and then told her to take him to her vehicle.

The victim testified she saw two people in the parking lot while they were proceeding to her car. She started screaming for help and ran away from Jasper.

The rape occurred across the street from the Albemarle County Police Department, along the 1600 block of Fifth Street. Jasper’s defense attorney said the sex was consensual.

Albemarle County Commonwealth’s Attorney Denise Y. Lunsford played the tape of the 911 call from the victim.

After a full day of testimony, Jasper attempted to escape from custody while in the process of being returned to the Albemarle/Charlottesville Regional Jail.
