Virginia Department of Transportation will be working on several roads in Louisa County between March 17 and 24, weather permitting, which could result in restricted traffic movements and reduced speed limits in work zones.
Route 15 (Zion Crossroads interchange) – Construction of diverging diamond interchange. Route 15 remains reduced to one lane both northbound and southbound. While traveling through the intersection, motorists will travel to the opposite side of the road, cross the bridge and then return to the right side of the road again. Motorists should be aware of signs indicating the new traffic pattern, new traffic signals and new traffic control signs. Motorists are asked to use caution and slow down as they approach the work zone and be aware of intermittent required traffic stops. Stay alert for the new traffic pattern, uneven pavement surfaces, and workers and equipment in and near the travel lanes.
Route 33 (Spotswood Trail) – Pavement resurfacing operations from Route 15 (James Madison Highway) to Route 22 (Louisa Road), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane controlled by flaggers and pilot truck.
Route 626 (Evergreen Road) – Ditching operations. Motorists should be alert for traffic controls as they approach the work zone and for equipment and workers along the road shoulder. Expect brief delays.
Routes 636 (Dunkum Store Road), 638 (Nolting Road) – Machining and grading gravel roads. Motorists should be alert for mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment working in the roadway; brief delays possible.
Routes 639 (Doctors Road), 860 (Klockner Lane) – Debris removal. Motorists should be alert for traffic controls and a possible lane closure as they approach the work zone and for equipment and workers along the road shoulder. Expect brief delays.
