The Louisa Education Foundation is busily gearing up for its fourth annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive. The drive will be headquartered at the Zion Crossroads Walmart beginning Friday, August 2, and continuing through Saturday and Sunday, August 3 and 4. Dollar General Stores and Walgreen’s in Mineral and Louisa will also be joining in the drive on Saturday, August 3.
Supplies are needed for students at all grade levels in each of Louisa’s six schools. Shoppers at these participating store locations are invited to help the Foundation by including an extra school supply item in their back-to-school purchases during this annual tax-free shopping weekend. Foundation representatives, school personnel, and local church and community volunteers will be on hand to accept your donations.
On Saturday, August 10, the Foundation will “unstuff the bus” at a community distribution event from 9 a.m. to Noon at Louisa County Middle School. Students and parents will have the opportunity to select basic school supplies just in time for the start of school on Wednesday, August 14. There is no charge to attend this event.
The Louisa Education Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization striving to generate funds to provide goods and services to enhance the educational experiences of Louisa County’s public school students and teachers. If needed for tax purposes, documentation for your donation can be provided. For more information, please visit your child’s school website or the LEF website at www.louisaeducationfoundation.org.
