Posted on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 9:00 am

The famed Barter Players, the State Theatre of the Commonwealth of Virginia, will be in Louisa County on Friday, March 27 for the production of “Anne of Green Gables.” The performance, sponsored by the Louisa County Rotary Club and underwritten by the Rotary Club and other Louisa County businesses and residents, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Louisa Arts Center.

Prior to the performance at 6:00 p.m., the Rotary Club and the Louisa Arts Center will host a pre-theatre wine and hors d’oeuvres reception alongside the opening of the latest Purcell Gallery art exhibition, “Shadows and Reflections.”

This is the 12th year the Rotary Club has brought the Barter Payers to Louisa County to offer local elementary and high school students the opportunity to experience live theatre. Earlier on March 27, the fourth grade students will be treated to a performance of “The Velveteen Rabbit” and the high school students will see a performance of William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar.”

To participate in bringing the Barter Players to the community and to local youth, sponsorships range from $100 to $500 and include tickets to the evening performance, reception and dessert social with the Players immediately following the performance. Sponsorships are due March 4.

Individual tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children age 18 and younger.

For sponsorship information, or to purchase tickets, contact Judy Seaton at mbseaton@hughes.net, or (540) 894-0853. Purchase tickets online at www.LouisaRotary.org.
