“La’Boheme” will be performed at the Louisa Arts Center featuring Ash Lawn Opera’s talented Young Artists at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. This year marks Ash Lawn Opera’s 36th season and its fifth in Charlottesville.
“La’Boheme” is Puccini’s remarkable and moving opera portraying young bohemians living in the Latin Quarter of Paris in the 1840s. The smash Broadway musical RENT is based on “La’Boheme.”
More than 300 young opera singers competed nationwide to become one of the 16 gifted apprentice singers who cover the main stage roles and perform in the ensemble.
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Ash Lawn Opera, Michael Bollinger, Louisa Arts Center director, said. “Ash Lawn Opera produces exceptional work. It is a joy to have them perform at the Louisa Arts Center.”
