Lions’ midfielder Isabella Rocha takes control of the ball during Louisa’s regional tournament match against the Midlothian Trojans on May 21.

Louisa’s girls’ soccer team traveled to Midlothian High School on May 21 to take on the Trojans in the first round of the Virginia High School League Region 4B tournament. The Lions lost 7-0, bringing their 2019 season to an end.

The Trojans took command of the game in the first half, putting up five goals before the halftime break. They added two more in the first 20 minutes of the second half, and Louisa’s defense kept them out of the net for the remainder of the game as goalie Anna Filipkowski tallied 23 saves.
