Vehicle downs power lines in Mineral

A Dominion Virginia Power worker repairs damaged power lines along Mineral Ave.

Dominion Virginia Power crews are working to restore electricity to four Mineral customers, after an unknown vehicle tore down the power lines in front of the Mineral Pack and Ship about 5:30 a.m. Friday.

According to Dominion crews, the vehicle continued along Mineral Avenue without stopping, which resulted in damage to the Mineral Pack and Ship’s building and gutters.

Dominion representatives said they expect to have power restored by approximately 4 p.m.

An incident report has been filed with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the incident.
