The Friends of Lake Anna State Park were guests at the February Louisa County Chamber of Commerce breakfast held at Louisa Health and Rehab Center on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Guest speaker Joe Elton, of Department of Conservation and Recreation State Parks Director, spoke about nature and technology coming together at Virginia’s state parks, as well as the fact that parks are economic engines for communities.

Elton said that 8.8 million people visited Virginia state parks last year and spent $260 million.

The fitness challenge is a new exhibit that will be featured in Virginia State Park Visitor Centers statewide, and Elton spoke about the exhibit and different challenges that will be available for park guests. The first exhibit will be launched at Mason Neck State Park this Spring.
