Water main break in town of Louisa

Posted on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 11:26 am

Regular breakfast customers at Hardees had to gather at another fast food restaurant on Friday, Sept. 13 after a broken water line forced Hardees to close until repairs could be made.

The contractor that is installing the underground utilities for Waverly Place Apartments on Main Street in the town of Louisa was working too closely to the water line and accidentally hooked it with a track-hoe at about 8 a.m. last Friday.

Since there is only one water valve that serves that section of the town, Town Manager Brian Marks said that it was necessary to shut off water to Louisa Marketplace Shopping Center, Advanced Auto and CVS to replace a six-foot section of water pipe.
