The Belmont Club of Women’s May “Elegant 80s Tea and Brunch” meeting honored 11 elegant 80s ladies. As members, these women have devoted their time and efforts to the organization for many years and are still very actively involved.

The brunch was prepared by the program committee and included quiche, bacon, fruit, baked goods, tea and coffee. Stephanie Suhling handcrafted the beautiful decorations for the event in a Mad Hatter theme. Members wore lovely hats or ribbons in their hair to celebrate. Everyone had a wonderful time talking to these women who shared many stories of themselves and their time spent as club members.

The Belmont Club of Women is a community service organization open to members from Louisa, Spotsylvania and Orange counties. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Belmont Community Center, 7124 Belmont Rd., Mineral.

Meetings consist of a speaker, social time for the group and the business meeting. Various fund raising events held throughout the year support the club’s scholarship programs and donations to local non-profit organizations.

New members are always welcome. Come to a meeting as a guest to learn more about the organization. Contact President Caryl Mathieu at (540) 894-9035 for more information.
