Dominion connects Louisa students with trees

Page Hutchinson, the forest education specialist at the Virginia Department of Forestry, gave a fun forester presentation on April 11 to fourth-graders at Thomas Jefferson Elementary. The students are enrolled in Dominion Energy’s Project Plant It! program to learn about the important role of trees in the ecosystem. Also, they will receive a free redbud tree seedling to plant for Arbor Day.

During the presentation, Page shared her knowledge of trees and conducted several activities with the students. She showed pictures of various items and had the students vote thumbs-up or thumbs-down on whether the item came from a tree or not.
