Students at Moss-Nuckols Elementary School are hoping to spread a little kindness while they’re on spring break.
Throughout the day on April 12, their last school day before spring break started, students decorated kindness rocks by drawing pictures or writing positive messages on them. The students took the rocks home at the end of the day with instructions to leave them somewhere while they were on break, either in Louisa County or wherever they might travel with their families.
MNES third grade math teacher Kathleen Fox, who helped organize the event, said part of the goal is to emphasize how powerful words can be.
“We always talk about how ‘you have the power to make someone feel good,’ or ‘words can hurt,’” she said. “This is really showing that words can have an impact on people.”
