Andrew Hollins re-joined The Central Virginian in February as a full-time reporter. He covers courts, crime, and investigative reporting.
Hollins started at The CV as a freelancer in 2016, eventually accepting a full-time position and continuing through 2020. After a two-year stint, he’s back writing for his hometown paper.
“I’m about as Louisa as they come,” he said.
Hollins’s family has roots in Louisa County dating back to the 1700s. His family owns the Lacy Funeral Home in Mineral.
Prior to a career in journalism, Hollins worked as an EMS technician and an auto mechanic among other professions.
He graduated from LCHS in 2002 before studying writing at Piedmont Virginia Community College.
At The CV, Hollins enjoys contributing to the community and exposing the truth where he can find it.
“Something that’s just an inviolable precept of my life is the truth; speaking the truth, living it, understanding it and calling it out when it’s absent,” he said.
Aside from writing, Hollins is an avid gamer and musician.
