Louisa Community Emergency Fund (LCEF), Touching Lives in Crisis, will partner with Our Brothers Keeper (OBK) to present a Gospel Extravaganza beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Louisa County High School auditorium, 757 Davis Hwy., Mineral. Use main, front entrance. This festival of music will include performances by local soloists, praise bands and choirs. Adult tickets are $10, children age 12 and younger are free and may be obtained through Louisa Parks, Recreation and Tourism office in the Betty Queen Center, or by calling Lin Kogle at (540) 894-0239 or Thomas Johnson (540) 894-7644. Food will be available for purchase beginning at 3:30 p.m.

First Bible Way Church will hold its Joy Night for Christ at 6 p.m. A number of speakers and various music ministries will present in celebration of Christ. The church is located at 785 Goldmine Rd., Louisa.

Sunday, Oct. 22

St. John’s Chapel will host an autumn hymn sing at 4 p.m.. The church is located at the corner of E. Green Springs Road and E. Jack Jouett Road, Louisa. For more information, call (540) 832-3838.

Philippi Christian Church will celebrate the T.E. Anderson Gospel Choir’s 21st anniversary at 3 p.m. The church is located at 7133 Jefferson Highway, Mineral.

St. Thomas Baptist Church will hold its morning worship service at 8 a.m. so the congregation may travel to Emporia immediately following the service. Transportation will be provided by the church for all who wish to travel with the congregation. The church is located at 1567 Bumpass Rd., Rt. 601, Bumpass.

Wednesday, Oct. 25

Gum Spring United Methodist will hold its Wonderful Wednesday, A Community Feast followed by Mission Friends (typically the last Wednesday of the month). A family style dinner will be served from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. During dinner, Mission Friends, an elementary-age missions group for children meets and offers a short Bible lesson and a small mission project for those in the community and beyond. The church is located at 191 Cross County Rd., Gum Spring.

Saturday, Oct. 28

Laurel Hill Baptist Church’s male chorus will celebrate its anniversary at 3 p.m. featuring various gospel groups. The church is located at 7652 Kentucky Springs Rd., Mineral.

Sunday, Oct. 29

Canaan Soul Saving Station Church will welcome a guest speaker for the morning worship service at 11:30 a.m. The church is located at 6576 Venable Rd., Kents Store.

The Louisa County Sunday School Union will hold its fifth Sunday service at Mt. Garland Baptist Church.  Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m., followed by worship service at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served after the worship service. The church is located at 4000 Buckner Rd., Bumpass.
