According to Virginia State Police Public Information Officer, Jessica Sheehan, a Gum Spring woman has passed away in a two-car motor vehicle crash at 8:15 p.m. on April 7 on Cross County Road, known locally by its route number, State Route 522.

“A 2004 Chrysler Crossfire, driven by Elise Laverne Mills, 62, of Gum Spring, Va., was traveling south on Cross County Rd. and crossed the double solid line into the northbound lane and struck a 2006 Dodge Caravan, driven by Steven Andrew Jarvis, 46, of Mineral, Va., head on,” Sheehan said in a statement.
