Louisa County officials are encouraging anyone needing help with applications, permits or payments to conduct their business online or over the phone. Residents can visit www.louisacounty.org or call 540-967-0401 for more information.
Starting June 1, the county office building is open to the public, but only 10 people are allowed to enter at a time. Anyone entering the building is required to wear a face mask.
During the past few weeks, staff members of the Louisa County General Services Department have worked to ensure county employees and members of the public stay safe while visiting the building. Such provisions include installing plexiglass windows at the front entrance and building temporary walls to prevent patrons from entering areas that are now closed off to the public.
While the accommodations are temporary, they will remain in effect until further notice. The Louisa County Board of Supervisors voted on May 18 to allow County Administrator Christian Goodwin to decide when to reopen the building.
